MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said all government officials who helped dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo (real name: Guo Hua Ping) escape will be fired and sued.

“All of those who are implicated in assisting Alice Guo to leave the Philippines illegally as a fugitive from justice will certainly pay the price. Ang tanong niyo, sino sisibakin (your question is, who will be fired?)” Marcos said in a chance interview on the sidelines of a situation briefing in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

“Hindi lang namin sila sisibakin, kakasuhan pa namin sila dahil ang kanilang ginawa ay labag sa batas at against all of the interests of the Philippine judicial system,” he added.

Asked who within the Bureau of Immigration will be fired and sued, Marcos said: “You’ll find out soon.”

Marcos previously said that he already has a “very good idea” of who is behind Guo’s escape.

Guo fled the Philippines in July and was arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. She is facing criminal complaints due to her alleged involvement in the illegal activities of the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator hub in Bamban, Tarlac.
