MANILA, Philippines — Alice Guo is still in Indonesia, but this time in Jakarta.
This information was revealed by Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco during the Senate subcommittee on justice and human rights’ Tuesday hearing on Guo’s escape from Philippine jurisdiction.
“Based on the latest report given to me last night, Alice Guo is in Jakarta.,” said Tansingco after he was asked by sub-panel chairperson Sen. Risa Hontiveros about the dismissed Bamban mayor’s whereabouts.

“So, she transferred from Batam,” Hontiveros answered.
The senator then proceeded to question whether BI can assure them that Guo will “have her day in court and also this committee.”
Tansingco said the government’s request for Guo’s deportation from Indonesia to the Philippines is still standing, adding that the coordination between the two governments is continuous.

At this point, Hontiveros asked whether search operations for Guo are still ongoing, to which Tansingco responded affirmatively.
Regarding Wesley Guo, the dismissed mayor’s brother, Tansingco stated that he left Batam, Indonesia on August 20 via ferry and then boarded a plane to Hong Kong.
“We already wrote to the Hong Kong immigration requesting for the confirmation of Wesley’s arrival in Hong Kong, but we already have the confirmation that he left Singapore. We’re still waiting for confirmation of his arrival in Hong Kong,” said Tansingco.
Hontiveros then asked if the BI could provide a timeline for Guo’s arrest, but Tansingco explained that he could not provide one because the Indonesian Immigration is leading the operation.
