MANILA, Philippines — There are still missing pieces to the puzzle on how Alice Guo was able to escape Philippine jurisdiction, but authorities were already able to monitor sporadically her and her alleged cohorts’ movement between July 18 to August 18.

This was revealed by Sen. Risa Hontiveros during the Senate subcommittee on justice and human rights’ hearing delving into Guo’s “escape” and the cancellation of the dismissed Bamban mayor’s Philippine passport.

“Let me first run down the information that we have managed to confirm,” Hontiveros said in her opening statement before enumerating the rundown of Guo’s known whereabouts.

There was a flight from Denpasar in Bali, Indonesia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via Batik Air 177. It is believed that Alice Guo and some members of her party were on that flight, but Alice’s photo was not captured in the immigration record in Malaysia.

Citing news reports, Hontiveros said Guo proceeded to Singapore. She added that according to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, Guo’s likeness was captured at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Alice’s parents, Lin Wen Yi and Guo Jian Zhong, flew in from China to Singapore. Hontiveros said Cassandra Ong may have already been waiting for them in Singapore as she was there since June 11, 2024, when she flew from Manila to Singapore via Singapore Airlines flight SQ917.

Wesley Guo took a ferry from Singapore to Batam, Indonesia.

Two days later, Alice, Shiela, and Ong followed Wesley to Indonesia.

Following this exposé, Hontiveros bared that all of these individuals presented Philippine passports before Indonesian Immigration.

“Yes, they have no shame. They used Philippine passports. I note that this would not have been possible if Alice Guo’s Philippine passport was immediately cancelled following the fingerprint match with Guo Hua Ping who is clearly not Filipino,” Hontiveros said in a mix of English and Filipino.

Apart from Alice, her family members Shiela, Wesley, Jian Zhong Guo, Seimen, and her mother Wen Yi Lin are likewise subject to the Senate’s arrest order for refusing to appear in the committee on women’s hearing on July 10.
