Alice Guo not yet attempting to flee Indonesia for Golden Triangle – BI
MANILA, Philippines — Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo is not yet attempting to cross the Indonesian borders to escape to the “Golden Triangle,” according to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval on Monday said the information was based on their “coordination” with their Indonesian counterparts.
“Naka-monitor po tayo and kausap po natin iyong ating mga counterpart there, as well as intelligence groups diyan po sa Indonesia, para matunton po at mabantayan po itong mga galaw ng dating Mayor Alice Guo, para kapag ibinalik po siya ng Indonesian authority dito ay harapin po niya iyong mga kaso, patung-patong po na kaso laban sa kanya,” she added.
(We are monitoring and talking with our counterparts there as well as intelligence groups in Indonesia to pinpoint and monitor the movements of former Mayor Alice Guo, so that once the Indonesian authorities turn her over here, she will face multiple charges against her.)
The Golden Triangle area is reportedly under the influence of syndicates and triads, spanning the intersecting borders of Mekong River countries Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
