MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Risa Hontiveros is calling on the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to immediately cancel the Philippine passport of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo.
Her call on Tuesday, came a day after her revelation that Guo already left the country on July 18.
“Ang kapal din talaga ng mukha ng pekeng Pilipino na ito. Ginamit pa ang pasaporte ng Pilipinas para tumakas. Her passport should be made null and void immediately,” Hontiveros said in a statement.
(This fake Filipino has some nerve. She even used a Philippine passport to escape. Her passport should be made null and void immediately.)

“Cancelling her passport will limit her travels. Mas madali siya matutuntun kapag hindi siya gala nang gala (It would be easier to track her down if she wasn’t constantly on the move). And besides, she does not have the right to use a Philippine passport in the first place,” she added.
Guo is being investigated by the Senate committee on women over her alleged links to illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations in her town.
She was later ordered arrested by the Senate for her repeated failure to face the past hearings of the panel, headed by Hontiveros.

“Dapat nung nakumpirma na pineke ang kanyang pagka-Pilipino, kinansela na agad ang pasaporte niya. Sana naisagawa na ito ng ating mga ahensya. The failure to apprehend Alice Guo only shows the lack of better interagency coordination,” Hontiveros went on.
(Her passport should have been immediately canceled after it was confirmed that she faked her Filipino identity. Our agencies should have done that. The failure to apprehend Alice Guo only shows the lack of better interagency coordination.)
“Hindi pwedeng nakakalusot ang mga pugante dahil walang maayos na koordinasyon. At mas lalong hindi natin papalagpasin kung may mga opisyal pala na kasabwat si Alice Guo sa lahat ng ito,” she further said.
(Fugitives cannot be allowed to slip through the cracks due to lack of proper coordination. And we will not certainly let it pass if there are officials who were conspiring with Alice Guo in all of this)

Following Hontiveros’ disclosure, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed that Guo left for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last month without passing through Philippine immigration authorities.
“We received intelligence information from our counterparts abroad that Guo illegally left for Malaysia then flew to Singapore,” BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said in a statement on Monday.
