MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has placed Bangladesh under Alert Level 1, otherwise as a precautionary phase, due to political demonstrations and civil unrest in the country.
In an advisory, the DFA said the situation can “deteriorate without warning.”

The DFA has advised Filipinos living in the area to do the following:
- Exercise precaution and restrict non-essential movement
- Remain vigilant, monitor, and follow guidelines set by local authorities.
- Always be in possession of valid passports and residence visas
- Register their particulars with the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka
The DFA said at least 700 Filipinos are in Bangladesh.
