MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will fly to Mongolia and the Republic of Korea this August for an official visit to boost the Philippines’ bilateral relations with both nations.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in a press announcement on Friday, said Manalo will first visit Mongolia following an invitation from Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh and as part of the activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Mongolia.

“Secretary Manalo will visit Ulaanbaatar from August 4 to 6, 2024. Secretary Manalo and Minister Battsetseg will convene the fourth Philippines-Mongolia Policy Consultations to take stock of bilateral relations, and explore further avenues of cooperation between the two countries,” said DFA.

Manalo is also scheduled to meet and have bilateral talks with Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul from August 6 to 9.

“Both Ministers are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting to discuss areas of mutual concern such as political, defense, security, economic and development cooperation, as well as people-to-people ties,” said the DFA.
