MANILA, Philippines — Suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo is still in the Philippines, Department of Justice (DOJ) Assistant Secretary Jose Dominic Clavano IV said Thursday.
In a Kapihan session with reporters, Clavano said Guo has not left the country based on information they have received from other agencies.
“May information mula pa sa ibang mga ahensya na nandito pa siya sa Pilipinas,” he said.
(There is information from other agencies that she is still here in the Philippines.)
In a Senate hearing on July 29, National Bureau of Investigation Assistant Director Angelito Magno said there were reported sightings of Guo in Bulacan.

But these sightings happened before the Senate issued an arrest order against Guo on July 11, he noted.
The Senate issued an arrest order against Guo and seven others after they skipped the July 10 hearing despite due notices from the committee on women probing into illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogos).

Guo is under investigation for her alleged links to the raided Pogo in Bamban, Tarlac.
Questions about her citizenship were also raised during a Senate inquiry after Sen. Risa Hontiveros pointed out that her birth was registered only in 2013, or 17 years after she was supposedly born in 1986.
