MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday assured the public that the names Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping were both included in the Immigration Lookout Bulletin (ILBO).
BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval gave this statement amid reports that suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo might have left the country using her Chinese passport, as stated by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.
“Both Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping’s names are included in the ILBO,” she said.
Asked if Guo might have left the country using the “backdoor,” the BI official noted that the question should be directed to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine Navy.
An ILBO is issued for prudence to double-check if there are any pending arrest warrants against the subjects, or monitor their itineraries and whereabouts, should they attempt to leave the country.
Earlier, the National Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the suspended mayor and Guo Hua Ping are the same person.
Guo is accused of enabling illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation (POGO) hubs.
Guo, whose identity and citizenship have been placed under scrutiny, was placed under a six-month preventive suspension without pay by the Office of the Ombudsman on May 31 following the administrative complaints of the Department of the Interior and Local Government for grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, gross neglect of duty and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.
She has also faced an inquiry by the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality.
