4 Japanese fugitives arrested in Pasay, Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines — Four Japanese wanted for their alleged involvement with a telecom fraud syndicate based in Cambodia were arrested in two separate operations in Pasay and Parañaque City on Tuesday, according to police.

In separate reports issued on Wednesday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) identified the four suspects as Masaya Sawada, 43; Seiji Suzuki, 29; Koji Ueda, 27; and Jun Kiyohara, 29.

Police said Sawada was collared by authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City after his flight landed at Terminal 3 from Cebu.

Following his arrest, the three others were apprehended in a follow-up operation on Jakarta Street in BF Homes, Parañaque City around 2 p.m.

No other details were provided regarding the case against the four suspects.

They are now under the Regional Intelligence Division of the Regional Special Operations Group’s custody.

NCRPO said it is coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration and Japanese authorities to deport the suspects.
