MANILA, Philippines — First Lady Liza Marcos on Sunday shared on social media her trip to the United Arab Emirates, where she is on a supposed three-day working visit to explore areas of cooperation between the Philippines and the UAE.

In an instagram post, Mrs. Marcos said the Philippine delegation and the UAE government tackled areas where they could enhance cooperation, such as culture, arts and heritage.

“Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, wife of His Highness the UAE President, welcomed (the first lady) who is on a working visit to the UAE,” the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a post.

“The (first lady) commended the UAE’s broad cultural and developmental progress, expressing her admiration for Emirati women, who have successfully become key partners in the country’s development and nation-building process,” the PCO said.

Earlier this month, the first couple hosted UAE foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the latter’s courtesy call in Malacañang.

The UAE official conveyed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. his country’s willingness to increase its investments in the Philippines amid the “growing relationship” between the two countries.
