The agency said that Luo presented himself at the BI’s office in Manila to extend his visa, but personnel found that he had a record.

The BI added that it issued a deportation order against Luo in 2023 after Chinese authorities said that he has a pending detention warrant.

“What he doesn’t know is that our system is connected to the BI’s centralized database of derogatory records, allowing us to immediately detect those with deportation orders,” BI Tourist Visa Section Chief Raymond Remigio said in a statement.
