Woman arrested at Naia Terminal 3 due to illegal recruitment
MANILA, Philippines — A woman was arrested in Pasay for illegally recruiting three individuals to work as farmers in South Korea, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
In a report on Sunday, CIDG said the suspect, identified as “Nenita,” was collared by authorities during an entrapment operation at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City on June 22. Nenita is now facing large-scale illegal recruitment and estafa charges.

Citing the complainants’ accounts, police said Nenita recruited them as farmers who will be deployed to Jeju Island with a monthly salary of P80,000, transportation, and accommodation.

“Due to the good promises, the complainants gave their money as an application fee amounting to P430,000,” the CIDG said.
Article continues after this advertisementDespite failing to dispatch the victims, police revealed that Nenita still demanded money for the process of the complainants’ deployment. They also discovered from the Department of Migrant Workers that the suspect was not licensed or authorized to recruit workers for overseas employment.
Upon the request of the unnamed victims, operatives of CIDG conducted a police operation that resulted in Nenita’s arrest. The suspect was brought to the CIDG-Anti-Transnational Crimes Unit pending inquest proceedings.
In line with this, the police unit warned the public of the scheme and encouraged them to transact only with legitimate and authorized agencies when seeking work abroad.
