Filipinos laugh the most online, says Lithuanian online group

A Lithuanian website organization said the Philippines is the country that laughs the most online.

MANILA, Philippines – A Lithuanian website organization said the Philippines is the country that laughs the most online.

According to BoredPanda, out of 1,000 posts on X, formerly Twitter, 119.6 tweets expressing laughter, such as laughing interjections or laughing emojis are in the Philippines.

In the world rankings, the Philippines was followed by South Africa at second, which had 106.9 laughter tweets out of 1,000, and Paraguay at third with 82.6.

Meanwhile, for Asia, the Philippines was succeeded by Malaysia at second with 87.4 and Iran at 71.3.

In contrast, Bangladesh had the fewest laughter tweets, at 5.99 out of 1,000, followed by Moldova at 14.80 and Algeria at 19.47.

BoredPanda said that its methodology for the study was to analyze 30 million geotagged tweets, and then rank locations based on how many tweets expressed laughter per 1,000 tweets.

The data was analyzed in May 2024, it added.
