No tsunami warning in PH after magnitude 6.6 quake in Tonga — Phivolcs
MANILA, Philippines — There is no threat of tsunami in the country following the magnitude 6.6 earthquake in Tonga, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Monday.
“No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data,” said Phivolcs in an advisory.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake occurred at around 4:47 a.m., and had a depth of 157 kilometers.
The earthquake in Tonga comes barely a month after a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit Taiwan in April.
