Marcos hopes non-resident envoys would learn about Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said he hoped the new non-resident ambassadors to the Philippines would learn more about the country, according to the Palace on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Marcos received the credentials of the ambassadors from Belarus, Ghana, Turkmenistan, Malta, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. Since they are non-resident, they will not be living in the country.

“Although, we are far away I believe that distance, we should not allow distance to get in the way of our continuing relations and I hope you should learn more about the Philippines and that you will be able to explore some other possibilities… to the mutual benefit of our countries,” Marcos told the Ambassador-designate of Nicaragua, Sandy Anabell Dávila Sandoval.

The ambassadors whose credentials the President received are following:

  1. Belarus – Raman Ramanouski
  2. Ghana –  Florence Buerki Akonor
  3. Turkmenistan – Atadurdy Bayramov
  4. Malta – John Busuttil
  5. Dominican Republic – Jaime Yorquis Francisco Rodriguez
  6. Nicaragua – Sandy Anabell Dávila Sandoval
