MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Saturday that it prevented an Indian national with a blacklist order from entering the country.

According to the BI, Kulwinder Singh arrived from Singapore on May 6 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Singh has a blacklist order against him issued in 2023 as he was found to be likely to become a public charge.

He was then boarded on the next flight to his port of origin, the BI added.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that the BI will ensure that the country will be protected against individuals who are security threats.

“Our primary responsibility is to ensure the integrity of our immigration procedures and protect our nation from individuals who pose a threat to our security,” Tansingco stated. —ADRIAN PARUNGAO
