Aquino welcomes Thai Prime Minister Shinawatra in Palace

MANILA, Philippines — President Benigno Aquino III welcomed in Malacanang on Thursday Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra who is here for a six-hour-long  official visit.

The two leaders will give a joint statement to the media after attending an expanded bilateral meeting with their respective officials.

President Aquino will host a luncheon for Shinawatra at the Palace.

It is the first official visit of Shinawatra, who is the sister of  deposed Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, since being elected last year.
