Marcos’ inclusion in Time’s influential list reflects brand of leadership—OP

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday attributed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s inclusion in the Time 100’s list of Most Influential People to his brand of leadership that prioritizes Filipino welfare.

Marcos was named a part of the list due to his governance of the country, primarily by appointing competent people in his administration and overseeing the post-pandemic economy.

“The inclusion of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the Time 100 list reflects his brand of leadership that puts the national interest and the welfare of every Filipino above all else.

“Under his Administration, the Philippines has experienced robust economic growth and recovery, exceeding expectations and instilling confidence in the country’s economic outlook,” said the Office of the President (OP) in a statement posted on Facebook.

The President’s office also said that Marcos was able to elevate the country on the world stage despite a variety of challenges.

“Despite geopolitical tensions and the hurdles posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, President Marcos has elevated the Philippines on the world stage and contributed to regional stability, notably in the Indo-Pacific region,” said OP.

“The President continues to steer the country towards peace and prosperity towards his vision of a Bagong Pilipinas,” it added.
