MANILA, Philippines — Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos has expressed solidarity with the people of Taiwan which was rocked by a magnitude 7.5 earthquake on Wednesday.
“We are also worried about their wellbeing and welfare. We are one and united with them, especially with Filipino migrants,” Bishop Santos said in a statement posted in his Facebook page on Wednesday.
He likewise asked for prayers for the safety of the people in Taiwan who were affected by the earthquake.
“We pray for them, and we have asked our Filipino chaplains to offer Holy Masses for safety and sound Health, and our almighty God, in His mercy and power, may bring comfort and healing to those afflicted, pacify and stop earthquakes and tremors,” he added.
As of posting time, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office said that three Filipinos were injured while the Department of Migrant Workers said that are no Filipinos fatalities.
