Magnitude 7.5 earthquake hits near Taiwan, reports Japan agency

A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck near Taiwan, reports Agence France-Presse based on a report by an agency in Japan.

It also said Japan has issued a tsunami alert for its citizens in its southern islands.
