3 Chinese nationals nabbed for trying to slip past NAIA immigration

MANILA, Philippines — Bureau of Immigration (BI) personnel have arrested three Chinese nationals who tried to evade the agency’s counters at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Yu Yang, Wang Bo, and Zhang Yong were caught on March 26 and prevented from boarding their flight to Hong Kong, the BI said.

According to the agency, the three Chinese nationals have derogatory records and are subject to blacklist orders issued in 2023. They allegedly attempted to slip past BI counters at NAIA when authorities spotted them.

“The attempted illegal departure of these aliens poses a threat to national security and public safety,” said BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to identify and apprehend individuals who attempt to circumvent immigration laws and regulations,” he added.

The three Chinese nationals were taken to the BI’s facility in Taguig City pending their deportation.
