MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday said that Princess Kate remains in the thoughts and prayers of Filipinos.

After disappearing from the public eye since her abdominal surgery in January, the Princess of Wales recently said she was battling cancer.

“The Filipino people have Catherine, the Princess of Wales, in our thoughts and prayers throughout this challenging time. We pray for her good health and continued healing and for the strength of her family during this difficult period,” said Marcos in an X post.

Princess Kate said she is undergoing chemotherapy after the “shocking” cancer discovery.

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” said the Princess in a video message.

Speculation of Princess Kate’s whereabouts circulated online after she disappeared from the spotlight.

The rumors intensified after Kensington Palace released an allegedly fake photo of Princess Kate.

Several news agencies withdrew the photograph, including Getty, Reuters, Associated Press and AFP.
