BI intercepts  4 foreigners linked to sex offenses

 

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Tuesday that it apprehended four foreigners –  two American, one German, and one Australian – who are allegedly involved in sex offenses.

The Australian national, Romeo Monje, 89, arrived from Sydney, Australia, on March 12.

The BI said that the International Criminal Police Organization notified it about Monje’s arrival. It added that Monje was allegedly convicted of eight counts of indecent assault against a minor.

The two American nationals, John Hayes, 48, and Sherman Douglas, 64, arrived in the country on March 14 and 15, respectively, from Taipei, Taiwan.

The BI added that Hayes was convicted for lewd assault and sexual battery against a minor and that Douglas was likewise convicted for sexual exploitation, also against a minor.

German national Ralf Bultschnieder arrived from Istanbul, Turkey on March 18. He was allegedly involved in exploitation activities and acts, the BI said.

The four were placed on the BI’s blacklist, the agency said.
