Marcos wraps up Germany visit after dropping by Jose Rizal apartment

BERLIN, Germany — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday concluded his three-day working visit to Germany with a visit to the apartment where national hero Jose Rizal finished writing Noli Me Tangere.

Marcos posted a photograph of himself, First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos and Philippine ambassador to Berlin Susan Natividad in front of the marker at an apartment on Jägerstraße here.

He then flew to Prague, Czech Republic aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR 001 and arrived at the Vaclav Havel International Airport at 5:43 pm local time (12:43 a.m. Thursday in Manila).

On Thursday, he will meet with the Czech Republic’s constitutional heads of government: President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Senate President Miloš Vystrčil and Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová.

On Friday, the last day of his state visit to the Czech Republic, Mr. Marcos will have meetings with Czech business leaders at the Philippine-Czech Business Forum and with the Filipino community in Prague.

He will also witness the signing of a joint communique on establishing a labor consultation mechanism to elevate cooperation with the Czech Republic on the safe and orderly migration and higher protection of overseas Filipino workers there.

Marcos will fly home to the Philippines on Friday evening.
