Marcos says mom Imelda getting better, raring to go home from hospital

BERLIN, Germany — Former First Lady Imelda Marcos is now in good spirits after more than a week’s confinement in the hospital for slight pneumonia and fever, and is scheduled to be discharged on Thursday.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said his 94-year-old mother is feeling better and raring to go home after finishing her antibiotics for pneumonia.
“She’s getting better and better. She’s scheduled to come out, I think, on Thursday… That’s what they told me when I last spoke to them,” he told reporters in a press conference here on Wednesday.

The Marcos matriarch was “in good spirits” and wanted to go home already after more than a week’s stay in the hospital.
“She’s already complaining about the food, she wants to go to different places, she wants to do many things. You know my mother. The most difficult thing for her is to do nothing,” the Chief Executive said.
He went on: “So I think it’s a good sign. I look forward to seeing her when we get back – back on her feet and out of the hospital.”
The former First Lady was confined for slight pneumonia and fever last week. Although her fever eventually subsided, her attending physicians decided to keep her in the hospital until she finished her antibiotics for her illness.
