14 Filipinos who fled from Israel-Hamas conflict arrive at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — A new batch of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from Lebanon has been repatriated by Philippine government.

This move is part of the country’s efforts to bring home Filipinos amid the Israel and Hamas conflict.

Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said the latest group of repatriates is composed of nine OFWs and five children.

“[They] safely arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 in Pasay City [on] December 28, 2023, via flight PAL PR685,” said DMW.

“The voluntary repatriated OFWs received immediate assistance from the DMW and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, including on-site assistance and reintegration services,” it added.

The repatriates were welcomed by DMW Assistant Secretaries Venecio Legaspi and Francis Ron de Guzman, and representatives from other government agencies.

A total of 111 OFWs from Lebanon have been repatriated as of this time.
