MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday welcomed Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta to Malacañan Palace, where the latter was given arrival honors.
During his visit to Malacañang, Ramos-Horta signed the Malacañang guestbook.
In attendance at the arrival honors were Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil, and more.
Marcos and Ramos-Horta will have a bilateral meeting later in the day, where the two will discuss possible areas of cooperation between the Philippines and Timor-Leste.
Ramos-Horta is in the Philippines from November 8 to November 11.
Timor-Leste has observer status in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, but Marcos has expressed his support for the country’s full membership.
