MANILA, Philippines — The fourth batch of Filipino repatriates from battle-weary Israel is set to arrive before October ends, said Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega on Thursday.

In a radio interview, De Vega said these Israel-based Filipino workers may arrive on October 29 or 30.

“Merong darating na next batch bago matapos ang buwan from Israel. Mga October 29 or October 30,” said de Vega over Radyo 630.

(The next batch will arrive before the end of the month from Israel. About October 29 or October 30.)

De Vega did not disclose other details on the repatriation of these Filipinos, but he earlier told reporters that there may be at least 20 individuals comprising this batch.

The Philippine government has so far repatriated 59 Filipinos from Israel.

Thousands of people, including four Filipinos, have been killed since Hamas militants attacked Israel from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, October 7.
