Remains of 2 OFWs from Middle East to arrive in PH on Saturday — DMW

MANILA, Philippines — The remains of two overseas Filipino workers (OFW) killed in separate incidents in the Middle East will arrive on Saturday afternoon, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.

In its advisory, the DMW did not mention the names of the deceased OFWs.

One was a female OFW caregiver who was killed with three other OFWs by Hamas militants in a terrorist attack on October 7.

According to the DMW, she refused to leave her elderly patient when Hamas militants began shooting at their kibbutz, or an Israeli community.

She will be taken to Negros Occidental, her home province, on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the other is a female OFW from Jordan, who was killed by an alleged relative of the building caretaker where she worked. The suspect is now in the custody of the Jordanian police, while the case has been elevated for court proceedings.

The DMW added that it will commit resources for the OFW’s case and will process benefits to her family, along with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
