BI to deport American fugitive facing child-molestation charge in Arizona

MANILA, Philippines—The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Monday that it has started deportation proceedings against an American wanted in the US for allegedly sexually molesting a child.

Kenneth Ramon Price, 44, of Arizona, USA was earlier arrested last May 18 on the strength of a mission order issued by BI Commissioner Ricardo David Jr.

Elements of the BI-Interpol UniPrice nabbed the American fugitive in his temporary residence in Antipolo City, Rizal, where he had reportedly taken refuge after fleeing his country.

BI Intelligence Chief Ma. Antonette Bucasas-Mangrobang said authorities in Arizona had sought Price’s arrest for violating the conditions of his parole by fleeing the US.

Price had been charged with the crimes of sexual conduct with a minor, molestation of a child, and sexual abuse before a superior court in Maricopa County, Arizona,.

“The State Department has already revoked his passport, thus he will be deported for being an undocumented alien,” Mangrobang explained.

The US embassy had sought the BI’s help in locating Price upon learning that the fugitive had been hiding in the Philippines since July 2004.
