According to Ignacio, the suspect in the killing of Garcia was a fellow household help – a Kenyan, adding that jealousy was seen as the motive.

“Favorite ng kanyang employer [si Garcia]. Binigyan pa sila ng isang kasambahay from Kenya, nagkainggitan. Noong una pinaghihiwalay ng kwarto until the other worker was terminated,” said Ignacio.

(Garcia was a favorite of her employer. They were even given another maid from Kenya. Jealousy ensued. At first, they were given separate rooms until the other worker was terminated.)
