PH embassy verifying reported 3rd Filipino fatality in Israel; 3 missing
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in Israel on Wednesday said it is verifying the reported death of another Filipino, while three other Filipinos remain unaccounted for, amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
In a Malacañang press conference, Philippine Embassy in Israel Vice Consul Patricia Narajos said a third Filipino death is still being confirmed by the embassy.
“As of early morning, of the 32 that was reported missing to the embassy — there are two confirmed deaths, one reported death, but is still subject to confirmation by DNA evidence,” said Narajos.
“There are still three missing and 26 have been rescued so far,” she added.
Department of Foreign Affairs earlier confirmed the deaths of two Filipinos in Israel.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to the embassy, among the confirmed deaths, one was a 33-year old female caregiver from Pangasinan, who had been working in Israel for six years.
The second fatality was a 42-year-old male from Pampanga.
The embassy said the two Filipinos were killed on Saturday, during the attack of Hamas in Southern Israel.
