MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has been informed about the floating barriers at the Bajo de Masinloc in West Philippine Sea, according to National Security Council (NSC) Assistant Director General and Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya.

Chinese vessels had installed floating devices in the area, sparking condemnation from lawmakers.

“Naihanda na po ng National Security Council ang aming report sa ating Pangulo tungkol sa nadiskubre natin sa Bajo de Masinloc na na may barrier,” said Malaya in ‘Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon’ public briefing on Monday.

(The National Security Council has prepared its report to the President about the barriers we discovered in Bajo de Masinloc.)

“Lahat po ng pangunahing pangyayari sa Bajo de Masinloc, Ayungin Shoal, at sa buong Calayan Island Group ay lagi po naming pinaparating sa ating Pangulo because he is, of course, the Chief Executive of the country,” he told reporters.

(Everything that happens in the Bajo de Masinloc, Ayungin Shoal, and Calayan Island Group, we always tell the President because he is, of course, the Chief Executive of the country.)

NSC is awaiting how the President will respond.

“Ngayon po ay inaantay po namin kung ano ang magiging tugon ng ating Pangulo don sa report na inihanda ng National Security Council,” Malaya added.

(Now we await how the President will respond based on the report the National Security Council prepared.)
