‘Every Drop Counts’ dialogue: A resounding success that inspires collaborative action for water security

The resounding success of “Every Drop Counts: A HighLevel Dialogue for a Water-Secure Country” has left a profound mark on the collective consciousness of all who participated, igniting hope and determination to secure the future of water resources in the Philippines. 

This extraordinary dialogue was a direct response to the pressing need to tackle the profound issue of water security within our nation. It seamlessly brought together luminaries, visionaries, and crucial stakeholders from every corner of the Philippines. “Every Drop Counts” was artfully crafted to feature three profoundly enlightening panel discussions, each of which scrutinized crucial facets of the complex water security equation: Finance and Water Security, Water Governance, and Digitalization, Technology, and Infrastructure. 

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Guest of Honor, Senator Grace Poe, whose impassioned address emphasized the paramount importance of formulating a participative action plan for the safeguarding of water resources in the Philippines. 

Notably, distinguished keynote speakers delivered earnest and insightful addresses that resonated deeply with attendees:

– Prof. Mely Caballero-Anthony eloquently expounded on “Water Security as Critical Core to Human Security,” underscoring the inextricable link between water and human well-being.          

– Congresswoman Bernadette Herrera passionately championed the pivotal role of women in shaping a water-secure Philippines, inspiring a call for greater inclusivity and gender equity in water management initiatives.

– Israeli Ambassador Ilan Fluss shared invaluable insights into water security fortified by technology, igniting conversations on innovative solutions that can revolutionize our approach to water management. 

– Undersecretary Carlos Primo David (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) provided an enlightening exploration of the critical aspect of Water Governance, fostering a deeper understanding of its central role in ensuring the sustainability of our water resources. – Assistant Secretary Glenda R. Rumohr-Figueroa (Department of Finance) shed illuminating light on the crucial nexus between Finance and Water Security, encouraging collaborative financial efforts that can drive meaningful change.

During the “Every Drop Counts” dialogue, approximately 400 enthusiastic attendees actively participated, engaging wholeheartedly in discussions that spanned from 1:30 PM to 6 PM, a testament to their dedication and commitment to the cause.
