MANILA, Philippines – Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri on Wednesday called for a meeting with all members of the Senate and other government agencies to discuss raising the issue of China’s aggression in the West Philippine Sea before the United Nations General Assembly.

Lawmakers on Wednesday failed to vote on the adoption of Senate Resolution No. 659 which seeks to bring China’s incursions in the West Philippine Sea before the UN General Assembly.

The chamber has suspended the consideration of the resolution until Monday, July 31, when an executive session caucus will be held.
