MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said he is deciding whether or not to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland in January 2023, considering the several state visits he has committed to.

In an interview with reporters before leaving Cambodia on Sunday, Marcos confirmed that WEF Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab sent him an invitation.

Marcos, however, said that he may be traveling too much already since he would also be away early January for the state visit to China.

“Yeah, the — Klaus Schwab was — invited me yesterday that we had a very early meeting and sinasabi nga niya (he said) that we want to hear the story of the Philippines in Davos,” Marcos said.

“So I am undecided yet. It’s traveling too much, that’s already the end of January. I’m going to China on the third,” he added.

Marcos also said that aside from China, he has accepted several state visits, including those from Asean countries whose leaders he got the chance to meet during the recently-concluded summit in Cambodia.

“But other — I’ve accepted several state visit invitations. Well, China, as you see, I said. Vietnam, Brunei. Actually lahat. Invited — kasi first time nila ako na (makilala).  ‘Yung iba Thailand, first nila ako makilala. So they’ve all invited me,” Marcos noted.
