MANILA, Philippines — Filipino students have been invited to participate in the first hybrid European Higher Education Fair (EHEF).

According to the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the Philippines, the fair will be held at the Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City and online via the website of EHEF.

The fair is scheduled on November 18 and 19.

“The biggest of its kind in the Philippines, EHEF will allow Filipino students, academicians, researchers, and university officials to connect directly with world-class higher education institutions from across the European Union,” the EU said in a statement on Thursday.

More than 90 higher education institutions from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Finland, and Sweden will join the hybrid fair.

The delegation’s Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Ana Isabel Ruiz said the EU “is the best place” if a student is “looking to pursue higher education that is a cut above the rest.”

“Beyond countless spots and diverse cultures, the EU is widely recognized as a centre of excellence and has established its educational preeminence with superior academic courses, mobility and scholarship opportunities, and cutting-edge technology,” Ruiz said in the same statement.

The fair’s theme is “Youth for Excellence and Innovation.” It will highlight “the important role of young people in advancing education, science and research to build a better future – greener, more inclusive and digital.”

The EU member states’ embassies and cultural institutes will give a walkthrough of various higher education systems, mobility, visa requirements, culture, lifestyle, and practical information through on-site country seminars during the event.

The EHEF is organized by the EU delegation and EU member states’ embassies, education services and institutes in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education.
