Stewards of Paradise: Club Paradise’s award streak continues
Club Paradise Palawan’s commitment to socio-economic development and environmental protection continues to find global recognition, as the resort recently received recognition and nominations from top international organizations.
After being awarded 3rd place last year under the Environment & Climate category of Green Destinations Top 100 Sustainable Stories, Club Paradise Palawan once again made it to the coveted Top 100 list of 2022 with their story “Planting the Seeds of Change – Uplifting the Local Communities One Project at a Time.”
The Green Destinations Top 100 Sustainable Stories is an annual global industry showcase of innovative and effective practices that inspire responsible tourism leadership. Specifically, Green Destinations pays tribute to destinations that work towards creating a more sustainable industry, while ensuring unforgettable experiences.
“We are honored to be a part of the Green Destinations Top 100 list for the third year in a row,” noted Joegil Magtanggol Escobar, Hotel Manager of Club Paradise Palawan. “Hopefully, our best practices and initiatives will inspire other industry stakeholders to continue working towards our shared goal of a greener and more sustainable environment,” he added.
Club Paradise Palawan, owned by the Discovery World Corporation is an exclusive island resort strategically located at the heart of Coron, Palawan, a tourist gem famous for its white-sand beaches, island-hopping tours, dive sites, and other adventures both on land and underwater.
One of the resort’s award-winning key initiatives is its EcoConserve Program, which is focused not just on environmental preservation, but on the welfare of neighboring communities in Coron. Through the program, Club Paradise Palawan led preservation projects that began within its island resort, and eventually went beyond to its surrounding areas.
“In a manner of speaking, the ‘eco’ in EcoConserve can refer to two aspects of the project: Ecology and Economy. Accordingly, we identified key concerns that we wanted to address through a multitude of projects involving livelihood, education, health & wellness, and the environment,” Escobar emphasized.
As another potential feather in its cap, Club Paradise Palawan is likewise recognized as among Global Pioneers in Wellness and Travel at the Destination Deluxe Awards 2022. The awards consist of 22 categories, where Club Paradise Palawan is a finalist for Private Island of the Year.
Both as a rising global brand and an established local industry leader, Club Paradise Palawan continues to raise the bar, not just in luxury hospitality, but in responsible tourism as well.
