MANILA, Philippines — Programs for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the labor sector were at the forefront of the Cabinet meeting led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday.

Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting started at 9 a.m., according to Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles.

During the meeting, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) discussed their specific programs for their sectors.

In a Facebook post, the Office of the President (OP) said priority projects of the DMW include the One Repatriation Command Center, OFW Mobile Application, and the National Reintegration Program.

Meanwhile, for the DOLE, the OP said the core priority will be “increasing employment opportunities, ensuring just and humane working conditions, and delivering accessible, prompt, and continuous services to the people.”

Cruz-Angeles said repatriation and bilateral labor agreements were also discussed during the meeting.

Specific details about the programs will be released possibly next week, said Cruz-Angeles.
