MANILA, Philippines — Ranking US Navy and Army commanders met with their counterparts in the Philippine military earlier this week to discuss future security cooperation, including training on Black Hawk helicopters, which the Philippines acquired recently.
Vice Adm. Karl Thomas, commander of the US Navy’s 7th Fleet, met with Philippine Navy chief Vice Adm.Adeluis Bordado on Tuesday to discuss collaborations to “improve our interoperability and improve our strong alliance.”
The day before, US Army Pacific commander Gen.Charles Flynn also met with Air Force chief Lt. Gen. Connor Anthony Canlas at the Philippine Air Force headquarters at Villamor Air Base to discuss training for Black Hawk helicopters.
