/ 05:30 AM February 04, 2022

With the Philippine Army planning to create more combat quick-reaction units, the United States Army Pacific (Usarpac) has offered to train security forces and upgrade their combined arms capability. Army chief Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. is set to to meet in March with Usarpac commander Gen. Charles Flynn to iron out the details in the creation of quick-reaction Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs). Flynn, in a virtual meeting with Brawner and other Army officials on Tuesday, offered “to share lessons and expertise” on the creation of the BCTs and Brawner told reporters the training would be in the form of “expert exchanges” where the Usarpac could send over instructors or conduct online instructions. —JEANNETTE I.
