Filipinos in US affected by tornadoes told to contact PH embassy, consulates for assistance

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in the United States urged Filipinos in tornado-hit areas to contact the embassy or reach out to the nearest consulate for assistance.

“The Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. advises Filipino communities, who were affected by the tornado which struck six (6) states, to monitor local advisories, and to contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate for emergencies requiring assistance,” the embassy said in an advisory dated Dec. 11 and reposted on its Twitter account early Monday.

According to the embassy, Filiponos in Kentucky and Tennessee may call (202) 368-2767 or (202) 769-8049 or send an email to atn@phembassy-us.org to request for assistance.

“For those in Arkansas and Mississippi, the Philippine Consulate General may be reached at (346) 256-4522 and by email, pcghouston.atn@gmail.com,” the embassy added.

“For those in Illinois and Missouri, the Philippine Consulate in Chicago may be reached at (312) 583-0621 and by email, chicagopcg@att.net,” it added.
