No Filipinos hurt in Tokyo train attack — DFA

MANILA, Philippines — No Filipinos were reported injured in a stabbing attack perpetrated by a 24-year-old man dressed as Batman’s Joker on a Tokyo train line Sunday evening.

“Based on a report from our embassy, no Filipinos were hurt in the attack,” the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a message to reporters on Monday.

According to reports, police have arrested the suspect, who injured 17 passengers in the attack.

Among the casualties is a 60-year-old man, who is in critical condition after being stabbed.

It was also reported that the attacker had spread fluid around the train and started a fire.
