AHON: Time for hope

The current global health crisis has disrupted and has and still is endangering the lives of so many Filipinos. As of 17th of October, the death toll has reached 40, 972 and the active case at 63,637. This relentless virus has engendered so much suffering and despair; it is actually a wonder as to how most of us FIlipinos still continue or even have the will to soldier on.

Nonetheless, we, as a Filipino collective, share a common factor. And that is we all have a common experience, suffering. It is normal to feel vulnerable when we are suffering and it, to some extent, affects our recovery status from this disastrous pandemic.

To share uncomfortable experiences, through any medium, fosters a sense of belonging and leads us towards the aim of making a better and understanding community. Thus, unity to end such awful suffering.

The Ang-Hortaleza foundation presents AHON, a unique event that aims to unify the community and most importantly the goal to espouse hope in one another.

AHON is an experience that will be presented in vivid digital animation accompanied live by ferociously talented and highly accomplished artists in the industry.

Who would forget the brilliant interpretation of ‘Kung Ako Na Lang Santa’ by the multi awarded Bituin Escalante? How about when Frenchie Dy won the 2004 grand champion of Star in a Million? Proving her vocal strength? And of course Mark Bautista’s impact in the music industry since ‘Star for a Night’?

There’s no better trio to convey resilience, compassion, and hope through musical means.

The core aim is to supplement at least 5,000 families affected by COVID-19 and even the natural calamities that occurred recently. 5,000 families. Not individuals, but families.

Let’s encourage one another to convert this dreadful suffering into something much brighter, lighter, and progressive. Hope.

Join us on November 14, 2021 at 7:00pm to 8:30pm. As a Filipino community, let us encourage and try to give each other the gift of hope and the push to unite us even further to eliminate each other’s suffering. It’s time to think of hope and how we can achieve this together. AHON, let’s rise side by side to rebuild ourselves once again through the beauty of sharing hope.
