MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-one more Filipinos earlier evacuated from Afghanistan arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

The Filipinos were earlier evacuated from Afghanistan to Islamabad, Pakistan, the DFA said in its latest situation bulletin.

They then boarded a repatriation flight from Doha, Qatar.

The DFA, meanwhile, confirmed that another Filipino was evacuated from Afghanistan on Monday. The said evacuee is currently in Islamabad awaiting his onward repatriation.

“The Department continues to closely monitor the situation and the status of remaining Filipinos in Afghanistan,” the DFA added.

According to DFA figures, 188 Filipinos have so far fled or have been evacuated from Afghanistan since the Taliban took over the country’s capital, Kabul.

Twenty-three Filipinos are still in the country, with seven requesting to avail of government repatriation.
