DFA logs 15 deaths and 17 new cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos overseas

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 and 5 deaths among Filipinos overseas.

The DFA also reported 26 new recoveries as of April 27.

This brings the total cases to 18,270, of which 5,909 are active cases and 11,220 are recoveries.

The death toll, on the other hand, now stands at 1,141.

According to the data released by the DFA, COVID-positive Filipinos are found in 93 countries around the globe.

It added that 10,442 of the total cases are in the Middle East and Africa, 3,519 are in the Asia-Pacific region, 3,355 in Europe, and 954 in the Americas.

Meanwhile, the country’s total number of infections stands at 1,013,618, with 71,675 currently active cases, 925,027 total recoveries, and a death toll of 16,916.
