No new cases of COVID-19 reported among overseas Filipinos – DFA

MANILA, Philippines — No new COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos were reported on Sunday, said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

As of April 25, the DFA said a total of 18,237 Filipinos abroad have been infected with COVID-19, 5,921 of which are currently undergoing treatment, while recoveries are at 11,190.

The death toll, on the other hand, stands at 1,126.

According to the DFA, 93 countries around the globe have Filipinos who are COVID-19 positive.

It added that 10,436 of the total cases are in the Middle East and Africa, 3,506 are in the Asia-Pacific region, 3,341 in Europe, and 954 in the Americas.

Meanwhile, the country’s total number of infections stands at 997,523 cases, with 77,075 currently active cases, 903,665 total recoveries, and a death toll of 16,783.
