PH-Canada labor agreement coming soon – DOLE
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) may enter into a bilateral labor agreement with Canada in May or June on the deployment of migrant workers, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said Wednesday.
“Siguro by May and June magkakaroon ng paglalagda, baka hindi nga abutin ng June, ‘yung bilateral agreement with Canada, specifically ‘yung province of Yukon dahil gusto nila na makuha ‘yung ating mga street workers, mga teachers, mga chef,” he said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s TeleRadyo.
(Maybe by May and June, we can sign a bilateral agreement with Canada, specifically the province of Yukon, because they want our street workers, teachers, and chefs.)
Bello also said Russia had expressed interest in entering into a bilateral agreement with the Philippines for migrant workers.
