M Lhuillier conducts relief operations in flood-stricken areas of Antipolo City
At the start of 2021, the Philippines continued to face the struggles that the pandemic had brought with it. But for the people of Antipolo City, it became much worse due to the onslaught of a calamity that struck their area. Antipolo was one of the cities that experienced extensive flooding in low-lying areas due to the many tropical typhoons that happened in the later part of 2020.
In response to the huge devastation, M Lhuillier Financial Services, Inc. conducted relief operations to help those who were badly affected by the flood.
On January 30, 2021, the ML Cares Foundation conducted relief operations in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City. They were assisted by the local government task force and the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Those who were badly affected by the flood included the poorest of the poor in the area as well as the PWD community. These were the beneficiaries who received help from M Lhuillier.
During the activity, M Lhuillier staff adhered to government protocols by religiously observing social distancing and wearing face masks and face shields as they distributed relief goods to the community. The relief goods that were donated included canned goods, noodles, coffee, and biscuits to 100 PWD beneficiaries. Non-perishable goods included sleeping kits and hygiene kits that the beneficiaries could use especially with the lack of beds and supplies for bathing.
